| Amit Ashok is currently a senior research scientist in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Arizona. Before re-joining University of Arizona, he worked as a Senior Scientist in the research and development division of OmniVision CDM Optics on novel computational imager design for commercial applications such as security, automotive, cell-phone based imaging. His main area of research is task-specific computational imaging and inverse problems and he works with Prof. Mark Neifeld in the Optical Computing and Processing Lab.
He received his Ph.D. degree for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Arizona, in 2008 and his disseration research was on a task-Specific approach for computational imaging system design. He received the M.S degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa in 2001. His M.S. thesis research involved implementation and analysis of a Bayesian approach to multiple-antenna
SAR interferometry. He received the B. Eng. degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Swaziland, Swaziland in 1998.
