Provide students with exposure to advanced concepts through a communications network system design process in which students will work as an Integrated Project Team.  We will explore and application domain that will require us to develop an intelligent sensing system and focus on the communications aspects of that system following a disciplined design framework.  Students will gain experience using UML and will gain familiarity with a range of advanced topics in communications systems, including MANET protocols, issues in wireless networking and network protocol interworking.  A key focus will be on the importance of standards.
