Research

Integrated optics, including modeling, design,
fabrication, testing and packaging. Focus is on devices with
telecommunications applications.
Some research with sensor applications is also being performed.

Current efforts include an add-drop multiplexer, a tunable dispersion compensator, and an all-optical packet header recognition chip.

Other work has included specialty Er-doped fibers
and sol-gel integrated optics.
