Biography

Prof. Dongsheng Brian Ma received his B.S. degree with highest honors and M.S. degree in electronic science from NanKai University, Tianjin, China, in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He received his Ph. D degree at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, in 2003. At the same year, he joined Louisiana State University as an assistant professor. From August 2004 to May 2009, he worked as Analog Devices Endowed Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona. He is currently an Associate Professor with tenure at the same university.


Prof. Ma is the recipient of United States National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award (2009-2014), Analog Devices Endowed Chair Professorship (2004-2006, 2006-2008), University of Arizona AAFSAA Outstanding Faculty Award (2006), the 1st Place Winner in 52nd IEEE International Midwest Symposium on Circuits & Systems (MWSCAS) Student Paper Contest (as student advisor)(2009), Best Design Award of IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference Asian & South Pacific (ASP-DAC (2004). He was also nominated for Best Paper Award IEEE/ACM International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD) in 2007.


Prof. Ma's current research focuses on analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design, advanced integrated power electronics, integrated communication and biomedical systems design. He is the founding director of Integrated system Design Laboratory (ISDL). His research works are widely sponsored by federal agencies and leading industry companies. Prof. Ma is a senior member of IEEE. He serves on Analog Signal Processing Technical Committee, Computer-Aided Circuit Network Design Technical Committee and Power System and Circuit Committee of IEEE Circuits and Systems society.
