William Ryan |

Professor Ryan received the B.S. degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1981, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Virginia in 1984 and 1988, respectively. He is currently a Professor at the University of Arizona with research and teaching interests in the area of communication theory and coding for data transmission and storage. Prior to this position, he was at New Mexico State University from 1993 to 1998. He has worked at several companies prior to his present position, most recently, Applied Signal Technology, Ampex, and TASC. He was an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications for the coding area from 1998 through 2005. Dr. Ryan directs research in the Signal Processing and Coding Lab in the ECE Department. |
