Short Biography:
I received my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in electrical engineering from the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, Shaanxi, China, in 1996 and 1999 respectively. After graduation, I worked on developing WCDMA (3GPP) system as a wireless system engineer in Huawei Technologies, Shanghai, China. In June 2000, I started my Ph.D. program at the ECE department at the University of Arizona. I worked as intern in Seagate Technology, Fremont, CA, in the summer of 2002 and 2003. In Fall, 2002, I worked for Wavexpress as a consultant. Currently, I am in the final stage of my Ph.D. program and am going to defense in Fall, 2004.

Research Interests:
  • Coded modulation and adaptive coded modulation
  • Advanced error control coding and information theory
